Because I like to try all different kinds of crafts, sewing has popped as one of my favorites. I love all the colors and patterns and all the ways different materials can be put together. My floor quilts started because of this love for pattern play.
The blue floral pillow is an antique handkerchief that belonged to my Aunt Elinor. The larger blue piece was once a napkin, also my Aunt's.
The gray and white dandelions are a fabric that I bought awhile ago. I embroidered a shocking pink design throughout the piece.....and then....a little pillow.
The third pillow (on top) is my own embroidery on a piece of beautiful linen given to me by my wonderful artist friend, Ilene Bellovin. The backing is a bright yellow on yellow design.
This pillow began as a picture of a gazebo in Manor Park, Larchmont New York. I transferred the photo onto cloth as a black and white print. Then I did machine stitching in various colors to emphasize grass, trees, sky. The background fabric is a heavy denim linen. The backing of the pillow is a gray and black small print. The pillow has a velcro opening so one can remove the insert. Spot cleaning only! This is for sale for $40
